Welcome to the official website of Féis Fhiolmaichean na Reul-iùil.

Will you be in Cape Breton from July 23-25th, 2010?  If so, mark your calendar because the North Shore Gaelic Heritage Society will host the 3rd Annual Féis Fhiolmaichean na Reul-iùil, the world's original all Gaelic film festival! The festival organizers are pleased to bring our unique blend of live and cinematic storytelling to the summer time slot.  Based on the overwhelmingly favourable feedback we received from visitors who attended past festivals, we feel there is a strong demand for authentic local cultural events. Our event is a celebration of Gaelic storytelling from live performances to short and long-form films from Canada and Scotland.

During the festival, we will present live storyteller events, film screenings, and several high-energy ceilidhs. Attendees in past years include Simon Miller and Morag Stewart, the creative team for the feature-length Gaelic film Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle, film professionals, aspiring actors and filmmakers, Gaelic learners, native Gaelic speakers, and people from communities across Nova Scotia and beyond.

You don't speak or understand Gaelic? Don't worry, all events have English translation or sub-titles, and all workshops are presented in English. The celebration ceilidhs work for any language because fun is pretty universal.

You want to learn to speak Gaelic and make Gaelic films? We can help will that. Come visit and discover the Gael in you!

Thank you for supporting Gaelic culture, heritage and independent filmmaking.
