Brief Story

From July 23rd to July 25th, the North Shore Gaelic Heritage Society will present the third annual Féis Fhiolmaichean na Reul-iùil ("Festival of the Guiding Star"), the world's first Gaelic-language film festival.

The Féis ("fesh") will include screenings of Canadian and Scottish films, live storyteller events, a writing workshop, and high-energy ceilidhs. All films are subtitled in English, and workshops are presented in English.

The Féis is going back to its roots in Breton Cove, along the North Shore of Cape Breton Island. This year marks the celebration of the launch of a new Gaelic Cultural Centre project in the community which will research, document, and present the lives of the people who came here from Harris & Lewis in the Hebrides of Scotland. Check the Schedule for the listing of event times and locations. The Gaelic Singers Hall on Cabot Trail, in Breton Cove, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia is the main location and central box office.
